SNMBA Trail Sign Installation at Cottonwood
I received an invitation from the Southern Nevada Mountain Bike Association (SNMBA) on Facebook to help with their Trail Sign Installation at Cottonwood. These trail markers are going to be really great in helping mountain bikers and trail runners learn where the trails are. What a great enhancement this is going to be at Cottonwood. Thanks to the SNMBA for their hard work in getting this accomplished.
WANT TO HELP VOLUNTEER?
They would love all the volunteers they can get. If you are an avid mountain biker or just a cycling advocate and want to help mark the trails, please contact them via the FB events page or their website.
DATES: APRIL 1st & 2nd
TIMES: 9am – 2pm each day
LOCATION: Late Night Trailhead Off the 160 (On the right before heading over the mountain to Pahrump)
THERE WILL BE FOOD FOR HELPING OUT. 😉
Here’s the information from SNMBA’s Event Posting:
The Cottonwood signs are in and we are ready to install them, but we need your help. We have 36 new signs ready to be placed througout the area to mark the trails. Additionally, we have directional arrows that need installation. Prior experience isn’t necessary, we’ll show you how to do it. We just need your muscle–male or female muscle will do. Come help us install signs and celebrate the work SNMBA has done to get the trails legalized and the signs made and installed.
We will be doing this on April 1st and 2nd from 9am to 2pm. You don’t have to be there the entire time. We can use your help even if you only have a couple of hours. And as a thank you, we’ll feed ya! Contact Kenny Newby for scheduling.
A special thanks goes out to the BLM and the Red Rock Concervation Area for working with us and to REI for funding the signs.
